Podcast: Learn how to control your thoughts with the STEAR Mindset Model with Kristin Sokol
Today’s guest is Kristin Sokol who, along with Kathy, was integral in establishing Go Adventure Mom. She has been married for fourteen years, has two kids, and began her career in journalism.
An early adapter, Kristin met her future husband via online dating in 2003 and found that she was almost disappointed that online dating was over for her. She liked dating through words and writing, so she began to help her friends date. This has led Kristin to her current role of mindset and relationship development coach.
She eventually decided to further her coaching education through the University of Texas, but upon entering thought that she already knew everything. She soon found out that she was often wrong and learned to accept it, while also learning to listen.
Kristin says that the answers to problems are usually already in the client’s mind. We learn about conversational building blocks which are designed to get people to say more, including the word you should never use in conversation.
Kristin then shares her mindset model, STEAR, and provides examples for each step to allow us to grasp a thorough understanding. She talks about how we are in control or our own thoughts and that we can replace them with productive ones without lying to ourselves.
Kristin then tells us how she starts the STEAR process when she meets a new client.
