Google Pixel 2 Review

Google Pixel 2 Review

If you have found yourself in search of a new smartphone to keep up with your daily needs, you are not alone. We were recently sent a Google Pixel 2 by Verizon to review.

Size Matters

When searching for a new phone, I really wanted to find one that could fit easily into my pocket, no matter what I am wearing. The Google Pixel 2 is just the right size. Many others frown upon how small it is, but I actually rather enjoy the 5 inch screen. And while the bezels above and below the screen may not be the most sleek design, they pose no issues. In fact, I have found that they even make it easier and more comfortable to hold the phone sideways, while watching YouTube and other videos.

Amazing Camera

It is no wonder Google decided to name this Android, Pixel 2. It’s front and rear camera features are absolutely incredible for a smartphone! It will auto focus on people or objects instantly, and it takes great shots no matter the lighting. Our faces are generally too dark to see, when I take pictures in the evening hours, but not with the Pixel 2. It automatically adjusts the lighting without the need to do any photoshopping. Best of all, any photo I take on my Pixel 2 will be available on all of my devices when I am logged into my Google account.

Water Resistant

My phone goes everywhere with me. That includes the shower. Thanks to its waterproof design, I am able to place my phone on the shelf in the shower and sing along to my favorite Pandora station. This means no more having to lean out and drip water all over the floor, when adjusting the volume or skipping a song.

No Headphone Jack

It is true. This phone does not have a headphone jack. Fortunately, when I want to listen to anything, without disrupting anyone, I simply connect my wireless headphones via Bluetooth. But for those of you that already have a really nice pair of wired headphones, you can use a USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter!

Google Assistant

I use Google Assistant frequently throughout the day, and it is readily available anytime of day. I simply squeeze the sides of the phone, and that wonderful voice is there ready and waiting for my commands. There is no need to wake my phone up each time I wish to use it.

The Google Pixel 2 has turned out to be my favorite phone, yet. If you are in the market for a new smartphone, I suggest you check it out. It’s spectacular camera features alone are enough reason to give it a try!

  1. Agreed! I just got mine (switched from iPhone). I am so happy with it and the “cons” aren’t really that bad.
