Try our tasty chocolate chip cookie recipe

Over the last 18 years, since moving away from home, I’ve been on the hunt to find the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. With some work and taste testing, I think we’ve come up with the perfect tasty chocolate chip cookie recipe that’s sure to be a hit. Personally, I think the secret is the Ghirardelli chocolate chips. But you’ll have to taste them to be sure!

We use oatmeal as a secret ingredient. It’s so yummy, your kids will never notice the oats. Hidden fiber, bonus!

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cook Recipes

Chocolate chip cookie recipe tutorial

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups of flour

1 egg

½ cup sugar

¾ cup brown sugar (packed)

½ teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of baking soda

2 sticks of butter (1 cup at room temperature)

2 cups Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate chips

1 cup oats

Preheat oven 375 degrees

 

Mix together flour, salt and baking soda, set aside.

 

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla – beat well.

Add the dry mix to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Add in the cholate chips, again mixing well.

Use on an air bake cookie tray.

Roll or spoon dough into 1 ‘ balls (I prefer using a cookie scoop) and place spaced out on the tray, usually about 12 cookies per tray. Cook between 10 and 15 minutes depending on your oven’s temperature.

If you prefer your cookies to be on the crispy side, leave them in a couple minutes onger.

If you prefer them to be more on the chewy side, take them out when you see the tops turning brown closer to 13 minutes.

 

Let them sit on the tray when removed from the oven for a minute or two before placing them onto a cookie rack for cooling. Once cooled, store in a cookie tin or Tupperware container.
