Family Camping Tips
Now is the perfect time for family camping. The weather has cooled down and it is more tolerable to be outside. My family loves to camp. You’ll notice we camp a few times a year! I wanted to share 4 Simple Tips to Family Camping that will make your camping adventure more enjoyable!
Reserve Your Campsite
You would be surprised as to how much everyone else loves to camp just as much as you do! Make sure you reserve your campsite prior to camping. In fact, reserving few days or even weeks in advance is a smart choice.
Bring Storage for Your Gear
Proper storage for everything is important when traveling. Make sure you bring storage not only for your food but also for your gear. This is to help weather proof everything when you’re not using it. Not to mention, storing your camping gear in proper storage is a smart idea, whenever you are done camping for the summer/fall season.
Prep for Family Meals
Usually, when we camp, I am in charge of the food. I love cooking and it is something I take great pride in whenever we are camping. My one foolproof ingredient I bring with me every time is Johnsonville Smoked Beef Brats. Johnsonville products are mouthwatering, fully-cooked, and so delicious. They contain premium cuts of pork and no fillers.
The brats can be prepared quickly and are a great hands-on item to have in the cooler after a long hike or when the kids start to fall apart. Be sure to check out my recipe for brat leftovers below.
Bring Necessary Equipment to Keep Your Food Cold and Fresh
Coolers and lots of ice are the perfect way to keep your food good when camping. Most campgrounds have some sort of store you can buy camping supplies from, so make sure to bring cash with you!
