Utah Lights

A local company in Utah called Animated Color has created an outdoor Christmas light display in Kearns, Utah. This is a mile long display of all over 1 million LED lights set to music. When you enter they tell you which channel to turn your station to and you listen to music coordinated to the lights. See the lights in Utah!

A Parents Perspective
It was nice to be able to sit in a warm car and look at Christmas lights, especially in Utah where it snows. The $20 per car fee on a weekday and $25 per car fee on a weekend is a little steep. It was fun, but not worth the price.

A Child’s Perspective
My children loved the light display, and couldn’t stop talking about it for a week. They loved driving through the light tunnels and they loved seeing the lights coordinated with the music. To them it was completely magical.

It was worth it based on the fact that the children loved it. It may even be more magical with snow.

I live with my twin girls and husband at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the summer I like to run, hike, and camp. In the winter I like to snow shoe, cross country ski and cozy up to a stack of novels. My family delights me with their love, humor, and desire to go on outdoor adventures with me from catching butterflies to dipping toes in rivers, to making s'mores up the canyon. I earned a Master of Professional Communication at Westminster College and was marketing manager for the Utah Symphony & Opera Deer Valley Music Festival and Program Director at Brighton Girls Camp. Both opportunities fueled my love for the outdoors.
