Backpacking Food

One of the most difficult things about planning a hiking trip is deciding what food to bring along.   This summer I completed a four day backpacking trip along the incredible Teton Crest Trail in Grand Teton National Park with my husband and brother.  For every lunch during our excursion, we ate Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwiches.

These sandwiches are unique and great for a day outdoors.  We absolutely love the convenience of them and how easy they are to bring along in a backpack.  While backpacking, pack space and weight is always an issue.  These sandwiches are a great way to get the fuel needed on a long hike and still save on space in your pack.

Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwiches | Go Adventure Mom

Bridgford Ready To Eat Sandwiches are designed for a variety of purposes.  They have a 2 year extended shelf life and no refrigeration is required.  They can be used for your outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting as well as for your home emergency kits.

They come in six flavor options:  Italian Sausage, BBQ Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, French Toast, Cinnamon Bun, and Apple Turnover.  Everyone agreed that our favorite meat sandwich was the Italian Sausage and our least favorite was the Sweet and Sour Chicken.  All of the dessert sandwiches are delicious!

One word of caution is that you will want some variety in your lunchtime menu, so along with the sandwiches I would recommend bringing some applesauce or fruit to break up the packaged and processed food.  The sandwiches are good, but I found myself wanting something fresh and fruity to go along with it!

Overall, I would bring them again on a future hiking trip.  The convenience of these sandwiches was my absolute favorite feature and the main reason that I would buy them for my outdoor adventures!
