When you’ve lived in the same town for as many years as I have you reach a certain point in your residency when you realize that you’ve done everything there is to and seen everything there is to see. You’ve been to the same restaurants, watched movies at the same theater and done your shopping at the same chain stores for years; the same old routine has gotten stale and you’re more than ready to spice up your routine with something new. Luckily for you, after overhearing talk from your friends and doing some research of your own, you found it: the hidden gem among riches, Historic Park City.
Located in the valley and flanked by the Park City Resort on one side while Deer Valley sits on the other, Historic Park City is the heart and soul of the mountain town in Utah. For someone who was used to the hum-drum of the same routine for so long, Historic Park City was exactly what my family needed to get us out of the funk we’d unconsciously fallen into. Since getting it’s start from the silver rush, Historic Park City has had it’s fair share of ups and downs: fires, freezes, booms and busts but reinvented itself as a ski town that quickly grew into a world-class destination and host to global events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Sundance Film Festival.
As a home to over 200 unique businesses, Historic City Park is the place to go to let your hair down and have a good, family-friendly experience. There are over 100 unique boutiques to visit, 50 dining options and much, much more to occupy your time with during your visit. Some of these wonderful places include:
Bistro 412: An American bistro with a French flair that opened its doors in 2002. Mouthwatering options to choose from include but aren’t limited to Curried Mussels, Lamb Shank and Beef Bourgignonne, all cooked and brought to you by chef Adam Ross.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory: Discover a wide variety of delectable chocolates and confections for you to choose from and enjoy.
Egyptian Theater: Enjoy live theater, dance, comedy, dance and more. The Egyptian Theater is an iconic landmark and community gathering spot.
Blue Church Lodge: If your looking into an extended stay within Historic Park City then this Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful choice. It’s home to 11 suites and is just mere steps from award winning restaurants.
Coda Gallery: One of the Wests finest art galleries, Coda Gallery represents artists from all over the US. It’s home to a contemporary, colorful array of paintings, sculptures, furniture and glass.
Hi Kathy,
We are so glad you found Historic Park City. Looks like you and the fam had a wonderful time and found some awesome spots! We encourage you to visit often.
