Did anyone else start off this summer with high hopes for getting fit? I sure did. I thought with all the kids at home and not having to drive to school and back and after school activities, we would have lots of free time. In my mind, that free time equated to working out at the gym in the mornings.
However, two months into summer and I’ve only made it a handful of times. Last time I went, we lasted all of 8 minutes at the gym.
Our toddler was so upset that we had to leave. So, last week I started doing fitness vides (streaming from Amazon Prime on the computer). Now I don’t have an excuse. Working out at home still comes with it’s challenges, but I’m feeling a lot better mentally.
Working out is my sanity, that’s for sure. However, I’ve suddenly become a human jungle gym when it’s time for my work out. The kids think it’s funny to crawl under my legs as I do lunges, crawl on top of my stomach as I do crunches and have a piggy back ride as I do push-ups. But at last I”m trying, right?
Working out with kids is hard to do, that’s why I’m happy to partner with United HealthCare on a campaign where they “DARE” you to participate in three challenges. The challenges for August are:
– Test your smarts: Keep your muscles healthy by taking the muscle health quiz
– Hashtag: Share a picture of your getting fit and use #GetActiveWDY
– Concentration: Play the concentration game
All Dares are for a chance to win a grand prize or a weekly prize:
It’s easy to enter and a fun way to help stay motivated.
