Training for a marathon with a baby can be more difficult than anticipated. Today, Adventure Dad, Mike Foss, shares a tip on training for a marathon with a baby.
Having a stroller that works for the baby is key.
Adventure Dad, Mike Foss, shares his experience using the URBINI AVI JOGGING STROLLER:
Tips for training for a marathon with a baby
We loved trying out our Urbini Avi jogging stroller in Central Park. This was a great stroller to use as I prepared to run the NYC Marathon.
I tried it out on both the paved paths/roads within the park and on the bumpier more uneven sidewalks and it held up great. I found this stroller to be a lower priced jogging stroller that was on par with other jogging strollers I have tried.
It was not too heavy or awkward to carry, which is important living in the city as we live on the third floor of a five story walk-up apartment building and are constantly using the subway.
My only issues I had with the stroller were finding a way to pump up the front tire. I have two bicycle pumps, a larger stand up one and also a smaller hand held one. Neither of the pumps were able to fit into the wheel to pump it up.
We had to go to a gas station to pump it for our first use. However, once it was pumped up we did not have any issues with air pressure or needing to patch the tires.
The other issue I had was the peek in window did not have Velcro or something to keep it open.
Overall, this was a good jogging stroller for the price point. It was able to withstand a variety of running terrain and the adjustable handle, the front locked wheel and cup holder were nice features for running.
Congrats Mike on completing the New York Marathon and congrats to Joanna and Baby Foss for being a great support crew!
