How to Choose a Jogging Stroller
3 must ask questions to ask when choosing a jogging stroller
If you’re an active mom and love running, walking, or jogging, you need a jogging stroller that’s going to work for you long term. I’ve spent many hours trying out jogging strollers and looking for that ideal stroller that will make sense for my family and me. Here are the criteria I use when choosing a jogging stroller.
How does it manage different terrain?
Unless you’re going to be running on flat road all of the time, knowing how well the stroller does on terrain is important. I would be very careful about choosing a stroller that hasn’t been tested on various terrain before buy it. Of course, the only way you can test it on a terrain is purchasing it and trying it out for yourself (unfortunately).
What kind of tires does the stroller have?
The tires have to be one of the most important parts of the jogging stroller. You certainly do not want a stroller that has poor quality tires. Believe it or not but there are tires on jogging strollers that need blown up and there are tires that are made of hard plastic. You have to choose which one is right for you. I also make sure the front tire is secure and doesn’t move around too much when running.
What kind of safety features does the jogging stroller have?
One of my main concerns with a jogging stroller is how safe it is! I don’t want a stroller in which my kiddos won’t be safe. The jogging strollers I choose need to have a five point harness so the kids are not bouncing around too much as I run. Of course, it’s nice to have a handbrake as well, so I am more in charge of when the stroller stops. I also do research to make sure the stroller has passed all necessary safety standards prior to being sent out to be sold to consumers.
