Traveling with baby is probably considered as one of the biggest stressors for parents when they’re headed somewhere. However, traveling with baby doesn’t need to be stressful. Keep these tips in mind when you’re traveling with that little one in tow.
Stress Reducers While Traveling with Baby
#1. Pack Whatever You Need
I always say that it’s easier to pack the items you need now, than run to the store later. I make a list of items I will need to make traveling with a baby a lot easier. I check my list several times to make sure I didn’t forget anything.
#2. Be Smart About Nap Time
Babies still need their nap time. If you decide to forfeit the nap, then you will have to suffer the consequences from a cranky baby. I do whatever I can in my power to ensure my kids will still get their nap time whenever we travel.
#3. Do a Trial Run
Before we take our kids anywhere long term, we always go for the trial run. If we plan on traveling several hours in a few months, we’ll do a short trip just a few weeks before the big trip. It’s smart to know exactly how well your baby travels. There is nothing worse than prepping for travel, only to have a baby who absolutely hates every minute of it.
#4. Don’t Forget the Baby Essentials
If you’re traveling by plane, then don’t forget the baby essentials in the carry on. Unfortunately, you’re going to need to be smart about what’s going into that particular bag. You will need the basics like diapers, baby wipes, and an extra change of clothing for the baby. You can’t take liquids on the plane, so that works out well if you’re breastfeeding. If you are formula feeding, you’ll need to wait to make the mixture on the plane.
Traveling with baby is one of those things that you think will be stressful, but after it’s over, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
