What You Want Your Kids to Know About Exercise

How teach your kids to love exercise As I was perusing Facebook last night I came across an article a childhood friend of mine shared.

There just aren’t THAT many things that just ring true, true, true to me, but this sure did.

I exercise on a regular basis, because I like to.  It makes me feel good and it helps be to be able to do stuff.

The article talks about a moment the author had during a group fitness class.  I totally identified with her in this moment.

I work out with SO MANY women whom I know will never be happy with what they are.

This is disturbing to me because our lives are meant to be enjoyed.  AND I think our constant self dis-satisfaction with self-image is destructive to young minds watching everything we do.

I’m an early thirties mother of two and wife to a husband who is pretty much the wind beneath my wings (and the money behind my debit card). I enjoy writing and laughing at the things I write. After graduating from Weber State University I pursued a joint career in full-time mothering and part-time writing. I discovered a passion for learning and writing about community and women’s issues. Besides writing, I enjoy doing things I’m not sure I can do. Some things I’ve failed at. Others I have accomplished. Other interesting things about me…I’m very short. I survived being sprayed by a skunk. I love my pet hibiscus flowering plant almost as much as my human children. I stalk celebrities, but not for a living. I swim surprisingly fast.
