EVO CONFERENCE: DAY 1 Truvia Workshop & Ignite

Be sure to read all the evo posts: Working TogetherLetting GoIgnite, UnpluggedJoyMom It Forward Moment

I couldn’t write just one post about it, so I’ve broken it down by topic organized by the above. Enjoy!

The next adventure was up the mountain at the Look Out Cabin where Truvia presented healthy baking solutions to our favorite desserts.

I rode the chair lift with a new friend Elisa Eliis.

It was fun to connect with the great team from Truvia and introduce them to a few of my friends.

The World Kitchen gals were there as well . They were all so kind and enjoyed talking to them.

We learned about Truvia’s new baker blend and tried out the recipe for ourslves.

Prior to the presentation, we ate a nice lunch where where we had some good food.

My favorite presentation was White on Rice photography. They take food photographs for cook books, magazines and Whole Foods.  I learned so many great tips on taking picture and how to set up a simple space using reasonably priced items. I think that’s one of the big take aways from their presentation, that it’s not about the gear.

They shared a beautiful video “OUR LIFE RECIPE” that had me doing the “ugly cry”, you know the one. Big fat tears, snotty nose…I wrote down my own version while I watched this. (I’ll share this in a separate post because it really deserves a dedicated post)

The Ignite presentations were that night. If you aren’t familiary with the Ignite format, each speaker has 5 minutes to give their presentation. Their slides are on a timer and I like it because the presentations are short and sweet.

The highlight of the night was the FLASH MOB lead by Jenny Eckton. You can watch her speech here:

and the flash mob that I filmed here:

{The crazy lady hooting like a wild woman, is me}. Jenny is one of my favorite people and became endeared to her last year at evo after an incident with the hotel and she was so kind and went out of her way to assure me. You can follower Jenny on her blog Formerly Phread.
