I’m going to Jackson
Our family has been going to Jackson for about 25 years.
How is that possible, you may wonder, since we’ve only been married 11? Good question.
Well, you see, both of our parents are friends and very early on in our childhood our families started going to Jackson Hole together. I must have been 10 or so?
The summer I fell in love with Jon was when we were in High School. I think I was 17 or 18. We had a foreign exchange student that year from Denmark (surprise) and she had fallen a crush on Jon’s brother. So, Jon and I ended up spending a lot of time together drinking Dr. Pepper and making fun of his brother and our foreign exchange student. Thankful that brother ended marrying someone else, but it sealed the deal. For me. I love that Jackson is part of our love story.
It’s became a tradition for both of our families. My parents have gone almost every year unless we were in Denmark. We stay at Colter Bay and have a lot of memories up there. It’s only been the last few years all the Dalton’s have started going again. But it sure feels good to be up there in that majestic place. It’s been so special to take our own children there and share this little bit of heaven with them.
Believe it or not, we’re missing a brother and sister and their two kids in this picture above. Plus we’ve had two more babies join us.
I lose track how many we are now…29? And counting.
I hope to post some Jackson tips on bike rides and some of our favorite trails for hiking!
