The first of November always marks a major planning day for me, it’s time to start CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! On Halloween my oldest, almost four, was already making a Christmas List thanks to ads this weekend.
At our trunk or treat I was chatting with another mom about the awesomeness of having a son and how suddenly you know all the names of trucks. You know the difference between a backhoe and a digger. Never before had I imagined knowing these details and then pointing out every excavator and tractor we pass when we’re driving (I have also been known to point these trucks out when my children are not in the car).
One new toy we found at Target is the Defiants 4x4s. I’d seen some moms tweeting about them earlier in the week and stopped to check them out. For a $5.99 toy it’s actually pretty cool. They are mini motorized 4x4s that don’t need a remote control (they call it “freewheeling” – new word for me.)
Defiants 4x4s shift into freewheling mode and can do stand jumps or downhill. They also have headlights to light the way, which sounds like fun in the sandbox and out of the sandbox. The first wave of over 50 collectible styles for 2011 began to arrive in stores over the summer. Vehicles are powered by two AAA batteries.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of having additional tracks that you have. We do not have enough storage space for those kinds things (we have 2 Cars ones and a train that are now stored in the garage). But it looks like you can use them with out the tracks.
Their website is pretty cool with videos and games, of course our son had to watch it over and over again.
