Feels Good To Get Some Stuff Done

(via Garden View Cottage)

Life as a mother of two, business owner, wife and friend over the last few months has been an adjustment.

Some days I hear myself saying “I just can’t get anything done” after cleaning up Logo’s for the fifth time that day or getting buried with laundry. It’s maddening.

But as baby girl is almost 3 1/2 months old, I feel like we’re getting a grip on our new life and adjusting to the chaos. I have started giving myself hi-fives and even doing a little dance when I get all the laundry done or make dinner. The thing that is the most evident is that while I may not be accomplishing a whole lot on my check list, my kiddos are happy and know their mama loves them. They are our biggest investment and am happy to nurture their growth.

  1. Wow! Found your blog because I was looking for a recipe for brunsviger & your website was one I clicked on! I live in South Carolina, and my mother is from Denmark. I went to school there for 6 months when I finished high school and love it and the pastries! My mom always knew that she could not return from DK without a trip to the bakery on the way to the airport! Anyway, I digress. I found your blog, love it and after I got the recipe for brunsviger which I hope to try soon, I kept clicking and saw a preemie link. I had a preemie last June at 28 weeks, 2 lb 10 oz. My son is doing great now, about 17 1/2 lbs, crawling, eating purees… I saw your post above and it totally described how I feel a lot of the time – that I can’t keep up or get stuff done! I work full-time, bake cakes for my husband’s restaurant a couple of nights a week, go to that restaurant a couple of nights a week (to visit, eat, hostess if necessary). Cleaning has seemed to have fallen by the wayside, but then I read something that said I get a C in housekeeping but A in mommying – I loved that because at the end of the day, my son is more important than anything! Thank you for your post – I love the way you said your kiddos are happy & know mama loves them – that’s the most important thing!

  2. Monique,

It’s wonderful to connect with you. I hope to post some more Danish recipes over the summer.

    Glad to connect with you!
