It’s a Preemie Thing

At the ABC KIDS EXPO this October, I met City Mommy Kerri Jablonski and she introduced me to It\’s a Preemie Thing, an online resource and boutique that supports preemies. Their goal is to “help you spend more time with your little ones and less time searching the web for the speciality preemie baby items you’ll need in the NICU and at home.”

After writing my post yesterday on Baby Girl Wish: To Hold You I thought the following Facebook post from It’s a Preemie Thing was appropriate.

Facebook: It\’s a Preemie Thing

One of the hardest things to accept as a NICU parent to preemies is having to get permission to hold or even touch your baby(ies). No parent should have to get a nurse’s permission for that! I remember vividly getting excited on days I could hold my son and loved when we were able to go past an hour a day. Please support March of Dimes research and laws that help all babies be born healthy and full term.

I’d like to encourage you to learn more about the March Of Dimes and support the bill.

  1. I have to say I agree that one of the hardest things was having to ask “can I touch her today?” When they started letting me hold my LO for 3 mins at a time it was amazing. The number one thing I did when she first came home was that I made sure I was the one to get her out of her bed :) God bless all the mommies and you for this blog :)

  2. This is a great post. Thank you so much for supporting the March of Dimes and for helping to spread the word about the seriousness of premature birth.
