Tips for Picking Out the Perfect Shoe for Your Child

Tips for Picking Out the Perfect Shoe for Your Child

Who knew that picking our shoes for your kids could be so hard? I mean, it’s just something they put on their feet right? Well kids need good shoes to help their feet grow and develop correctly. Kids also need shoes that are comfortable and that they will want to put on. Here are a few tips for picking out the perfect shoe for your child.

The fit is a big deal

Out of everything, I would say that the fit is one of the most important parts of picking out a shoe for your kid. The shoe needs to fit as good as possible. Sometime this is impossible because kids’ feet are so different. However, do the best you can!

Velcro is faster for the parents

Have you ever tried to tie a baby or toddler shoes? It is s hard to keep up with it. After three kids, I stuck with Velcro, so much easier. It all depends on your preference, but I found Velcro to be a lot easier.

The soles should be bendable

Babies and toddlers don’t walk around like us, they need shoes with soles that move around. Babies and toddlers are still learning to walk, so having a stiff shoe isn’t a good idea!

Price is always something to keep in mind

Paying $100 for one pair of kid’s shoes isn’t probably in your budget. I like to look for shoes that are made of quality and worth the money. One company that I love, which makes kids shoes, is called Ikiki. They make the most adorable pairs of shoes. My favorite are the Ikiki Sascha Narwhalski! This line of shoes is totally adorable and the price is just right. These shoes are great because they are designed just for kids with features like –

  • High top
  • Roomy Fit
  • Velcro Shoe Strap
  • Rounded Toe Box
  • Anti-Slip Grips
  • Flexible Rubber Sole
  • Comfortable Insole
  • Breathable Fabric

I love these features and I know you will too. It’s a breath of fresh air to find a company that makes shoes with kids in mind.

Have you tried these shoes? What is your favorite part of them?
