Fall weather can make it challenging to dress. It’s cold, then it’s hot. The mornings in Salt Lake can be cold and then by the afternoon you’re turning the air conditioner back on. One thing that I’ve found that helps is having basic layering pieces.
I’m not a style maven, but love finding functional pieces that are practical and can be used a variety of ways. My wardrobe is mostly black, but this time I went with a grey dress, that I thought would look really cute with or with out tights. Could be worn with high black boots or with short boots.
The Remi Dress from Cents of Style is my new favorite. While I may not have the photo fashion poses down, I do love something that I can just throw on and not think about it. As a mom of three, I find that I usually just end up throwing on what ever I see first. Having a go-to dress this fall is great. Usually, when I wear long sleeves I get really hot, but I like the fit and feel of this dress.

For layering, I used a blanket scarf (also from Cents of Style) to add extra warmth. Plus, it’s really cute. There are about 30 different options available for you to choose from. My daughter also likes to use the scarf as her blanket to snuggle with. The scarf is very practical and a great addition to any wardrobe.
Do you have a favorite way to layer in the fall? We’d love to hear your story!
