It’s been almost 10 months since baby Ollie was born. I’m not one of those moms who “drops baby weight from nursing”. It takes me a good 10 months and I’m still about 5 pounds away from my pregnancy weight. However, I’m not wearing maternity pants any more, so that makes me feel pretty awesome.
My focus this time around, with round three, is to simply try and live better everyday. To have gratitude and enjoy the simple moments.
Here are a few tips to help you live better every day
1. Give thanks:
Thank the people you are surrounded by, thank your children, your spouse and your parents. Even thank yourself for a job well done.
Enjoy the sunshine: Take time out to just sit and enjoy the sun. The Fall colors and the light in Fall is so beautiful. Take time to see how the sun reflects on the leaves.
2. Get out and move:
This doesn’t mean getting to the gym everyday, but rather going for a walk with the kids or paying a game of soccer outside.
3. Change your beauty routine:
Try adding a new lip color or a shimmery highlighter. I found this cool tool on Walmart called the Sauve Hub it’s filled with beauty tips and promotions, like Family Perks, where you can submit points for gift cards.
4. Change your hairstyle:
I’ll be the first to admit it, I wear my hair the same way EVERY DAY. This is mostly because it’s easy to do, but I love the look of my hair braided. It takes about 2 minutes more time to simply french braid my hair or put bobby pins in my hair. With out fail, when I do this simple little “hair do” someone compliments me and that feels good.
5. Give yourself permission:
We are often our biggest critics, give yourself permission to stay in your jammies, to eat pizza for breakfast or what ever it is that makes your life easier that day.
Living better everyday doesn’t have to be big major steps, it can be small things that you change in your daily routine.
