I CAN’T

My son learned a lovely phrase this past week, “I can’t”. He says it all day long. Everything is “I can’t”.

Me: Hey honey go get your sippy cup
Son: I can’t

Me: You can go down the big slide
Son: I can’t

It breaks my heart a little that he really things he cannot do something or accomplish something.

Yet, it makes me wonder how often during the day do we tell ourselves, “I CAN’T”?

Turns out I say it all day long. “Oh, I can’t because I’ve got to do the dishes” or “I can’t because I don’t have the time”. I think part of “I can’t” comes from the fear of failing but I think even more so we use “I can’t” as an excuse. How about you?

It’s time to stop making excuses.

Think about that adorable little Engine That Could and remind our selves, that YES WE CAN.
